Dominic Yew (Dom) is a seasoned CISO and cybersecurity leader with a proven track record of building successful cybersecurity teams, strategies, and information risk management programs. He is also an active cybersecurity speaker and panelist at local cybersecurity and digital transformation events.
Currently, Dom is the Chief Information Security Officer (CISO) for OCBC Malaysia. Prior to that, he was the CISO for the largest ewallet provider in Malaysia. He has about 20 years of experience in information security, including 14 years in the banking and financial services industry. He has extensive experience in cybersecurity leadership across various industries- banking, fintech, and technology services. He is a certified cybersecurity practitioner with strong knowledge of NIST Cybersecurity Framework, PCI-DSS, Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX), BNM RMIT, BNM MCIPD, MAS TRM, PDPA, and CSF. His key strengths lie in security governance and the formulation of cybersecurity strategies.
As a cybersecurity leader, Dom has spearheaded initiatives to elevate cyber security and digital risk as a principal risk in the bank. He has also set up a new information security and digital risk management charter. Dominic is also a cyber security evangelist who partners with stakeholders across business units to cultivate a strong culture of cyber security at all levels, supported by contemporary information security training and awareness programs.
